Thermal Characterisation Facility

Flash DSC is a version of Differential Scanning Calorimetry with far higher heating rates than conventional DSC, using a sensor chip to achieve ballistic heating and cooling rates.

Ultra high heating rates of up to 2.4 million Kelvin per second enable materials to be analyzed without interference from reorganisation processes. Making Flash DSC ideal for the study of crystallisation kinetics.

Applications

  • Crystallisation
  • Solid state transitions
  • Electronic materials
  • Polymers
  • Metallic glasses
