Thermal Characterisation Facility

Rheology is the study of flow. In particular the behaviour of viscoelastic materials that show properties of both solids and liquids in response to force (stress) or deformation (strain). A rheometer studies this by applying torque to a sample held between two plates, one fixed and the other in rotation.

Used for viscosity measurement, dynamic mechanical properties, foams & gels, curing & cross-linking, polymer melts.... and many other applications.

Applications

  • Viscosity Measurements
  • Lubricants
  • Curing
  • Thermoplastics
  • Dynamic mechanical properties
  • Pastes, gels, emulsions
